Meet Julie

I began practicing family medicine as a PA in 2003 and specialized in primary care and women’s health.  After practicing medicine for over a decade I began seeking avenues to advance my capacity to help patients heal.  Thus, I completed the Integrative Medicine Fellowship at the University of Arizona under the tutelage of Integrative Medicine leader Dr. Andrew Weil and graduated in 2015.  I currently practice Integrative Mental Health at AZ Integrative Medicine & Spa. I offer one on one consultations and facilitate group courses such as nutrition and meditation classes.

I am a clinical provider for “The Sparta Project,” a non-profit organization whose mission is to help heal the moral and spiritual wounds of our first responders, active and veteran military personnel.  Furthermore, I teach “Post Traumatic Stress Disorder” modules for Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) Police and Fire programs for the Greater Phoenix and East Valley departments.

I have served on the Board of Directors for the Brain Injury Alliance of Arizona (BIAAZ) since 2015 and served as board president for three consecutive years, 2019, 2020 and 2021. I have been active on the leadership and education committees for the board and am enthusiastic about advancing the mission of the Brain Injury Alliance.

One of my passions is learning about, and teaching, principles of Neuroplasticity and Mind-Body medicine.  I frequently speak to health care professionals, patients and other groups on various topics related to healing trauma and advancing health from a mind/body approach. I frequently speak for the BIAAZ and offer various classes and meditation seminars as a representative of the organization.
